Authenticity In Business

“To be honest, it’s still a conscious choice that I make to show up in my business as myself, no matter who likes it or not.”

What’s up ya’ll!

It's on my heart today to share with you the importance of accepting who you are, and how to deal with your anxiety about it! This quote from Brene Brown comes to mind “Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we are supposed to be, and accepting who we are.” I adore Brene Brown, and if you don’t know her, you betta get to knowin her! She’s BOMB.

Thanks Brene.

“Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we are supposed to be and accepting who we are.”

This theme has come up a lot for me in my mental health therapy business time and time again. It never gets old. It used to be a struggle for me when I first became an entrepreneur, because I was anxious at times about how I was going to be perceived, whether I was professional enough, whether my personality was likeable, etc etc. You see what happens? I used to doubt myself and my abilities as a business owner, and I was VERY hard on myself.

To be honest, it’s still a conscious choice that I make to show up in my business as myself, no matter who likes it or not. And, this has never steered me wrong. As a result of me constantly showing up as myself in my business, I am so much more confident in myself as an entrepreneur. The decisions I make are made with confidence and has resulted in increased client referrals due to people embracing and appreciating me for being me.

Remember: if someone doesn’t like you or your personality, then those ain’t your people!! The right people will be attracted to you and the light that is you. Period.

I hope you found this helpful and encouraging on your entrepreneurial journey! It ain’t easy, but it’s so so worth it. I would love to hear your thoughts below and tell me whether you can relate to this topic at all and what was coming up for you as you read this!

Take it easy,

Topsie
